In September of 1992 the Kickemuit River Council receives and award from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) recognizing us for "Outstanding Service" monitoring the waters of the State of Rhode Island. The Award was signed and given by DEM Director, Louise Durfee and DEM Coordinators for the Volunteer Monitoring Program, Robert Ballou and Maureen Raposa.
